Bread Pudding with Vanilla Sauce
1 ½ cups light brown sugar
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 ½ cups butter, melted
4 ¼ cups whole milk
1 pinch salt
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
4eggs (3 beaten)
1 1/2 cups white sugar
10 slices of bread, toasted and cut into cubes
1 cup raisins

Preheat the oven to 190 degree Celsius. Grease a baking dish and keep it aside. Whisk together white sugar, 3 eggs, 2 tablespoons of brown sugar, 3 cups of milk, ½ teaspoon cinnamon and ¼ cup of butter. Add the bread and the raisins to this mix. Transfer this to the baking dish and bake for 45-55 minutes or until the middle is set. Cover the pudding with foil 30 minutes into the baking process in order to avoid excessive browning. Wait for at least 10-15 minutes before serving.

For the vanilla sauce, combine the flour, 1 egg, 2 tablespoons of melted butter, a pinch of ground cinnamon, 1 ¼ cups of milk and the salt. Whisk together until smooth. Put this into a heavy bottomed pan and heat on medium for about 10 to 12 minutes till the sauce is a thick consistency and coats the back of the spoon. Add the vanilla extract and stir well. Pour this sauce over the bread pudding and enjoy.
